With so many causes and movements around the world, we tend to turn a deaf ear to most these days but this young man does not. Harley Guindon steps up every time a member of his community is in need. From fundraisers to personal donations his help and support have been unwavering. Now, his own business requires some public assistance.

Located at 433 Simcoe St South in Oshawa you can find Harley G’s Clothing, HG Tattoos and HG Arcade — at least for now. Due to some zoning issues (which seem completely biased due to the other establishments operating within the same zone) the licensing for the Tattoo Parlour and the Arcade has been denied.

Though it’s attached, the tattoo parlour is completely closed off and separate from the clothing store and has not only been inspected by the Durham Health Department but has passed with flying colours!

Health Department Certification

The arcade was created as an outlet for the youth and families in the community to have a safe place to go and have some fun. A place to help keep the youth off the streets and out of trouble.

Sadly, this may well be lost if we don’t help fight for zoning variation approval. So, please take a moment and sign the petition.

Still not convinced it’s for a good cause?

This man and his store in the past 5 years have repetitively given back to the community by holding fundraisers for several nonprofit organizations as well as a multitude of individuals across the Durham Region and the surrounding areas.

  • Food drive for Simcoe Hall Settlement house,
  • Clothing Drive for Salvation Army
  • Toy Drive for YMCA
  • Yearly BackToSchool Backpack and Supplies for the kids
  • Donated over 165,000 adult diapers to senior centers across the Durham Region and surrounding areas
  • Raised $6232 to fix the Legion’s roof
  • Raised over $10,000 for a local burn victim and his family to help pay bills
  • Raised $6300 for a young mom suffering from ALS

And this is just a handful of examples of his selfless efforts to give back to our community.

If you’re still not convinced you should sign the petition. Please, watch the video and listen to what he has to say.
